Bridge under bars (a visual poem)

Beautiful, but caged in,
You graceful, grand old thing.
Everybody loves you.

Towering and noble,
Upwardly mobile,
You are the gateway to Japan.

Brazen and gaudy,
Cheap and bawdy,
You ruin my plans.

I want to cross you
But I am frightened I will stop half way.
My efforts wasted. On you.

Hell, you're worth it.
